Day 3 - New York raining

Non-parents can skip this paragraph: We ended yesterday and started today with Julian puking in his cot :( All is well now but meant that we all had a rough night.  Poor lamb was blocked up again (unblocked this morning) and he is happy once more.

This morning it is raining hard and there is thunder!  This is the view of our private back deck:
Not really a day to be outside, however we had laundry to do (because of above) and had run out of milk, so no choice but to brave it and head out.  The local laundry (called Janes) was just a 2 block stroll away and just down the road from this place:

You can't tell from the overexposed photo but it is called "Think"coffee.  It was all vege/vegan fare except for the grilled cheese sandwiches which you could get ham on.  Grilled Cheese is THE big trend in food at the moment in NY, so we had to give it a try.

This is Steves' grilled chedder cheese with tomato.  Mine was grilled swiss cheese and ham but missed out on a photo.  They were damn good!

And here is Julian playing with the straw in my lemonade.

Then we went back to Rite-aid (pharmacy+grocery) and bought the milk.  I tried to get butter/margarine and yoghurt but the poor woman behind the counter had no idea what I was saying.  I even tried like the italians, to say it louder but it didn't help :)

Julian is sleeping now (in the pram in the bedroom).  Once he is up, we are heading off to the Circle line ferry to pick up our New York City passes and if the skies have cleared (it is looking promising), head out on a cruise around Manhattan!
